Kimalel Cultural Fair & Goat Auction

The Kimalel Goat Auction was founded in by former President Moi 1986. Back then, the who-is-who of Kenyan national politics and corporate big-wigs of the day would troop to this nondescript corner of Baringo to place astronomical bids on goats. It was all in the name of supporting the mainly pastoral community of the area.
It went silent after a six-year run but was revived in December last year by President Uhuru Kenyatta. Billed the Kimalel Cultural Fair & Goat Auction, it now features road races, music competitions and boat races on Lake Baringo.
Keep an eye out for this years edition.
